A little about me…
If we ever sit across from one another in my office, you’ll quickly learn that I believe counseling is first and foremost about relationships. Techniques, theories, and interventions matter, but healing often begins when someone feels genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
I didn’t become a counselor because I had life all figured out. Quite the opposite. Like many people, I have experienced grief, loss, uncertainty, disappointment, life transitions, and moments that challenged my understanding of myself and the world around me. Those experiences taught me that while pain is part of being human, we do not have to walk through it alone.
For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people as they navigate some of the most difficult and meaningful seasons of their lives. Throughout my career, I have worked with young children who experienced severe abuse, veterans and their families, individuals in crisis, adolescents, and adults seeking support through life’s challenges. Today, I am honored to serve adults throughout Oregon in my private practice.
My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, without needing to have the right words, and without needing to have everything figured out before you arrive.
Outside of counseling, I am a mother, a reader, a lover of the Oregon coast, and someone who feels most at peace near water, mountains, forests, and open skies. I grew up in both the Willamette Valley and the Wallowa Mountains, two places that taught me to appreciate both beauty and resilience. If I am not in the office, there is a good chance I am spending time with family, walking my dog, enjoying a good book, or watching the waves roll in somewhere along the Oregon coast.
My faith is an important part of who I am and has shaped the way I understand compassion, hope, and the value of every human being. While I welcome conversations about spirituality when they are important to my clients, my office is a place where people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences are respected and supported.
I believe people are often stronger than they realize, even when they feel exhausted, overwhelmed, lost, or stuck. Sometimes we simply need a safe place to pause, sort through the noise, and reconnect with ourselves.
If you’re considering counseling, I would be honored to walk alongside you for part of your journey.
Warmly,
Kelly D. Boeve, MA, LPC
